Prof. Dr. Katharina Blankart

Katharina Blankart is an economist specialising in health economics, health policy and health management. She heads the Health Economics and Health Policy team at the Bern University of Applied Sciences and is an affiliate of the Hamburg Centre for Health Economics. Her research projects include efficiency analyses, evaluation of new health technologies, innovation and technology in health care, and individual behaviour.
She received her PhD in economics (Dr oec. publ.) from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich in 2012. After a postdoctoral period at the Hamburg Centre for Health Economics and a research stay at Columbia University, she is Assistant Professor of Empirical Health Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen until 2023.
