Dr. Rana Lonnen

Rana is a healthcare venture capital investor and board member, at the intersection of biology and technology, with +20 yrs in life sciences in venture capital, biotech and academic sectors. Most recently, Managing Director at Novartis Pharma Strategic Technology Fund (dRx Capital), investing in technology across the value chain of pharma, including healthcare IT, AI/ML powered R&D, life sciences tools and AI based precision medicine. Prior to Novartis, Rana was in London of IP Group Biotech investment arm,  before this she served as Head of Preclinical Development and Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of two UK based biotechs. Before this, she was a Wellcome Trust backed academic, Head of a translational drug discovery research group. Based in Switzerland, Rana holds a PhD in molecular biology, an MBA from Imperial college London and has been serving/served as board member of a dozen of portfolio companies in the US and EU.
